Job summary

Boiler Supply Company in Knoxville, TN seeks a motivated Service Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair boilers, controls, and related equipment. You will inspect combustion systems, prepare boilers for inspections, and perform mechanical and electrical installations on customer sites.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 2–3 years of mechanical service experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pump and motor operation is a plus.
• Pipefitting and plumbing certifications are desirable.
• Familiarity with computers and computerized boiler control systems is beneficial.
• Welding and oxy-fuel cutting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair boilers, controls, and related equipment.
• Inspect, test, and adjust combustion systems and control settings to ensure proper operation.
• Prepare boilers for state and regulatory inspections.
• Perform mechanical and electrical installation of boilers, controls, and related equipment.
• Start up and commission existing boilers at customer locations.
• Perform start-up and commissioning services for newly installed boiler systems and controls.
• Complete minor electrical wiring, connections, and conduit runs as required.
• Perform minor pipefitting and plumbing tasks, including brazing copper piping.
• Assist boilermakers with boiler tube repairs and installation work.
• Accurately complete and submit all service reports and paperwork.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.

Service Technician - Knoxville, TN Our company is seeking a motivated, dependable, and self-driven individual to join our team as a Service Technician in our Knoxville, Tennessee location. We specialize in the sales, service, repair, and installation of boilers and boiler-related equipment, with offices located throughout Georgia and Tennessee. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. The following duties, responsibilities, and qualifications are required for consideration.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair boilers, controls, and related equipment.
• Inspect, test, and adjust combustion systems and control settings to ensure proper operation.
• Prepare boilers for state and regulatory inspections.
• Perform mechanical and electrical installation of boilers, controls, and related equipment.
• Start up and commission existing boilers at customer locations in preparation for the heating season.
• Perform start-up and commissioning services for newly installed boiler systems and controls.
• Complete minor electrical wiring, connections, and conduit runs as required.
• Perform minor pipefitting and plumbing tasks, including brazing copper piping.
• Assist boilermakers with boiler tube repairs, refractory work, and equipment installations.
• Accurately complete and submit all service reports, documentation, and required paperwork.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in mechanical service, repair, maintenance, or related operations preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience with boiler service, repair, and operation is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of pump and motor operation, maintenance, and repair is a plus.
• Plumbing and/or electrical trade certifications are desirable.
• Pipefitting and plumbing experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with computers and computerized boiler control systems is beneficial.
• Welding and oxy-fuel cutting experience is considered an asset.

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more from floor to waist and above shoulder level.
• Ability to safely operate and work from ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
• Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods, typically six or more hours per day.
• Comfortable working in a variety of environmental conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
• Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a positive, can-do attitude.
