Job summary

Meyer’s RV & Marine is seeking a skilled Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of recreational vehicles, including motorhomes and travel trailers. You will perform diagnostics, handle electrical, plumbing, LP gas systems, and ensure customer vehicles meet safety standards.

You will document work in the dealer system, estimate labor time with advisors, and keep a clean, safe shop.

Qualifications

• Diagnostics, Troubleshooting, and repair of RV systems.
• Basic computer skills for documenting work orders.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostic inspections and repairs on RVs.
• Inspect and service LP gas, plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Repair interior mechanical systems including slide-outs and power awnings.
• Conduct structural and exterior maintenance for weatherproofing.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on inventory.
• Document work, labor hours, and parts in repair orders; coordinate with advisors and parts managers.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and proper tool care.
• Follow OSHA and dealer safety guidelines.

The Service Technician is accountable for performing the duties and responsibilities described below:

Job Requirements

Key Responsibilities & Job Duties

Diagnostic & Technical Maintenance

• Perform comprehensive diagnostic inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on recreational vehicles (motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and pop-up campers).
• Inspect, repair, and service LP/propane gas systems, 12V DC / 120V AC electrical systems, plumbing, water heaters, and sanitation equipment.
• Diagnose and repair interior mechanical systems, including HVAC units, furnaces, absorption/residential refrigerators, slide-out mechanisms, and power awnings.
• Perform structural, carpentry, roofing, and body maintenance, ensuring weatherproofing and seal integrity across exterior seals and seams.

Quality Control & Safety

• Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new and used RV inventory to verify all features, appliances, and safety systems function to manufacturer specifications.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks, winterization, and spring summarize prep services for customer vehicles.
• Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, dealer safety protocols, and industry environmental guidelines when handling hazardous materials and tools.

Workflow & Administrative Support

• Accurately document all work performed, repair steps, labor hours, and parts used on service repair orders (ROs) within the dealer management system.
• Work collaboratively with Service Advisors and Parts Managers to estimate labor time, source necessary replacement parts, and update customers on job status.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work bay, ensuring all shop tools and diagnostic equipment are properly cared for.
