Automotive Technician
Position Summary
The Automotive Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation for our customers. Technicians work in a fast-paced service environment performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. At Precision Tune Auto Care, technicians play a key role in delivering trusted automotive service while supporting the store team in achieving operational and sales goals.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Service & Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, fluid services, and filter replacements
- Conduct vehicle inspections and identify necessary repairs
- Diagnose mechanical issues using proper tools and diagnostic equipment
- Complete brake services, suspension repairs, and other automotive repairs as required
- Ensure all repairs meet Precision Tune standards for safety and quality
Inspections & Recommendations
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections during each service
- Identify potential maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Communicate recommended repairs clearly to the service advisor or manager
Productivity & Efficiency
- Maintain strong technician productivity and efficiency levels
- Complete services within established labor times
- Maintain an organized and safe work environment
Customer Experience
- Support the team in delivering excellent customer service
- Take pride in the quality of work performed on every vehicle
- Ensure vehicles are clean and properly handled during service
Shop Maintenance & Safety
- Follow all safety procedures and shop policies
- Maintain clean work areas and properly care for shop equipment
- Follow environmental and waste disposal guidelines
Qualifications
- Previous automotive repair experience preferred
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and light mechanical repairs
- Basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic and team-first attitude
Preferred Skills
- ASE certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with brake systems, suspension, and steering components
- Ability to use digital inspection tools and shop management software
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise, heat, and automotive fluids
