Job summary

Vet Outlet is seeking a Dairy Systems Technician to install, service, and repair DeLaval milk harvesting and robotic milking systems. You will work directly with dairy producers to maximize uptime and performance, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and system optimization.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, experience with dairy equipment, and the ability to work in variable environments. A valid driver's license and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience servicing dairy equipment preferred.
  • Mechanical experience preferred.
  • Experience or working knowledge in electrical systems, mechanical systems, plumbing, welding, refrigeration/HVAC, and dairy equipment service is beneficial.
  • Experience working around dairy cattle is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work overtime and participate in on-call service rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through dependable service and professional communication.
  • Install, service, and maintain dairy equipment systems including DeLaval milk harvesting equipment, robotic milking systems, pipeline and parlor equipment, and supporting mechanical and electrical components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on dairy equipment to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues including mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and system-related problems.
  • Maintain high system uptime and ensure proper equipment functionality.
  • Perform installation of parts and system components including electrical wiring, plumbing, refrigeration components, and welding and fabrication.
  • Assist with installation projects including transportation and setup of equipment at customer locations.
  • Respond to customer service requests and provide timely technical support.
  • Provide a high level of customer service and work to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Communicate equipment issues and solutions clearly to customers and internal personnel.
  • Complete service reports and maintain accurate service records.
  • Participate in on-call service rotation as required.
  • Follow all company safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

The Dairy Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, repair, and technical support of dairy equipment systems, including DeLaval milk harvesting and robotic milking systems. This position focuses on delivering high-quality technical service while ensuring optimal performance and uptime of dairy equipment.

The Dairy Systems Technician works directly with dairy producers to install and maintain equipment that supports milk quality objectives and operational efficiency. This role provides troubleshooting, system optimization, and technical support to maximize customer value and satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities
