Job summary

John Jones Auto Group in Corydon, Indiana, is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our growing Service Department. Work in a fully heated and air‑conditioned shop, with a focus on accurate diagnostics and high‑quality repairs.

You will handle brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, HVAC, electrical systems, and drivability concerns while staying current on training and new automotive technologies. We value safety, teamwork, and dependable service for our customers.

Qualifications

• Automotive technician experience required; dealership experience preferred.
• ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with dealership systems, diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in a shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues.
• Complete repairs and maintenance including brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, heating/AC, electrical systems, and drivability concerns.
• Conduct multi‑point inspections and document findings clearly.
• Perform manufacturer‑recommended services and warranty repairs.
• Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding repair needs, parts requirements, and timelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety protocols, dealership procedures, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Test‑drive vehicles to confirm repairs.
• Stay current on training, certifications, and new automotive technologies.
