Job summary

Destination Kia in Albany, NY seeks an experienced Service Technician to diagnose and repair Nissan and other imported vehicles, perform routine maintenance, and document all work clearly. You will use advanced diagnostic tools and stay current with automotive technology to ensure safety and quality.

A strong customer focus and teamwork are essential. Requirements include 3+ years as an automotive tech, own hand tools, and a valid license; ASE certification is preferred and NYS inspection

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive technician experience (Nissan or import experience a plus).
• ASE Certification preferred.
• Own basic set of hand tools.
• NYS Inspection License is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Nissan vehicles with speed, accuracy, and integrity.
• Perform routine maintenance services (oil changes, brake jobs, inspections, etc.).
• Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and factory training to stay ahead of the curve.
• Ensure that all work complies with safety and quality standards.
• Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road test vehicles when required.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and services provided.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
• Deliver a world-class customer experience by ensuring every car leaves the shop running at its best.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong attention to detail and a passion for all things automotive.
• A team-player attitude and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Must be available to work Rotating Saturdays
• Have your own basic set of hand tools
• Must be able to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues AND, do it right the first time in accordance with factory and dealership standards.
• NYS Inspection License is a plus!
