Job summary

CPI is seeking a Field Service Technician I to service the Newark area and surrounding central NJ. You will maintain and upgrade electromechanical equipment at client sites, traveling regularly and coordinating with the local branch.

The role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, reliable work ethic, and good communication. Company vehicle and tools provided; generous benefits and PTO available.

• 1+ years in a technical/field service role or similar
• Strong integrity and reliability
• Ability to access high-security environments; licenses may be needed

Responsibilities

• Service, upgrade and perform preventive maintenance on electromechanical equipment
• Travel daily to client sites (≈90%), overnight travel (≈10%)
• Collaborate with branch staff to meet client needs
• Address service requests within contract response times
• Work extended hours and be on-call when required
• Maintain balanced inventory of vehicle parts
• Keep company vehicle clean and up to service intervals
• Safeguard company assets including tablet and mobile phone
• Perform other duties as required

If you are interested in making a global impact, we are looking for a full-time Field Service Technician I to service the Newark area and North to South Central area of NJ.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Field Service Technician is responsible for servicing, fixing, upgrading and performing preventative maintenance on various types of equipment such as coin & currency equipment, ATM’s, software and specialized office products located at client sites in Newark /central NJ. To guarantee ongoing success, you will work in coordination with branch sales and other service team members.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Service, upgrade and perform preventative maintenance on company electromechanical equipment
• Travel by vehicle, daily, to client sites (90%) with overnight travel as needed (10%) - Some long drive times are encountered depending on geographical territory covered
• Work with branch employees to satisfy client needs
• Address customer service requests within the specified contract response time
• Extended Hours Coverage periods and ‘On-Call’ duty where applicable
• Safeguard and maintain a balanced vehicle stock parts inventory
• Upkeep and cleanliness of company issued vehicle including scheduled service intervals
• Safeguarding of any company issued assets including tablet computer and mobile phone
• All other duties as required

Qualifications

• 1 + years of working in Technical/Field Service position or similar technical profession
• Impeccable Integrity
• Must be able to gain access to highly secured environments; Occupational licenses may be necessary to obtain depending on territory/accounts
• Strong electromechanical aptitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a positive, customer-first attitude
• Personable, approachable and able to work easily with others at all levels
• Strong Attention to details - able to proof and prioritize your own work
• Proficient in iOS, MS Office applications and Windows OS
• Ability to set and track goals independently, initiate and follow through on assignments without coaching, and work proactively as a team player
• Able to commit to and meet project deadlines

Physical Requirements

• Available for periodic travel to our corporate office in Mt. Prospect, IL for training classes
• Able to lift, push or carry a minimum of 50 pounds such as large money counting machines and parts in and out of client sites
• The job requires kneeling, bending, twisting, lifting and squatting to service equipment on the ground up to 60% of the time
• Hand and wrist dexterity needed to turn screwdrivers and place parts and equipment
• Phone or desk work about 10% of the time doing computer work, bench repair work, parts stocking, tracking service calls and setting up appointments
• Ability to stand for long periods up to 75% of the time while servicing some equipment
