Job summary

Lakeshore Talent is hiring on behalf of Merritt Trailers for a Service Technician to join the Parts & Service team in Fremont, Nebraska. This hands-on role focuses on trailer repair, maintenance, and fabrication to keep livestock and commercial trailers road-ready.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of repair or technical service experience, a high school diploma or GED, and MIG welding ability. You will diagnose issues, read blueprints, and work safely in a busy shop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain livestock and commercial trailers
  • Perform air system, ABS, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and structural repairs
  • Complete preventative maintenance, inspections, and DOT‑related services
  • Fabricate and repair components using steel and aluminum
  • Read work orders, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Document completed work for billing and warranty purposes
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized shop
  • Work closely with teammates to meet productivity and quality goals

Lakeshore Talent is currently hiring on behalf of Merritt Trailers for a skilled and dependable Service Technician to join their Parts & Service team in Fremont, Nebraska.

Position Details

Location: Onsite – Fremont, NE
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Pay: Starting $25.36–$27.00/hour, depending on skills and experience; 90-day review with potential pay increase up to $32/hr after skills assessment!

Job Overview

This is a hands‑on role focused on trailer repair, maintenance, and fabrication for livestock and commercial trailers. The Service Technician will play a key role in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and road‑ready while supporting day‑to‑day service operations.

What You’ll Do
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain livestock and commercial trailers

What We’re Looking For
  • 3–5 years of experience in repair, maintenance, or technical service roles
  • High school diploma or GED
  • MIG welding experience (steel and aluminum)
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform basic shop math
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Reliable, safety‑focused, and able to work independently as skills progress
Requirements
  • Must provide personal tools (tool list available; assistance may be provided)
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment and random drug screeningsAbility to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, kneeling, climbing)
  • Willingness to work 40+ hours per week as needed
