Job summary

AVE‑PLP, LLC is seeking a Service Support at our Sioux Center location to operate the wash bay, maintain the store grounds, and perform general maintenance in the service department.

You will follow safety policies, assist with moving equipment, and support delivery and errands as needed. This role includes physical tasks and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate the wash bay, including washing and detailing equipment.
• Maintain the wash bay in good working order.
• Perform grounds maintenance (mowing, trimming, snow removal, garbage).
• Assist in moving equipment within the dealership and handle pickups & deliveries of lawn and garden equipment.
• Assist with running store errands.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Occasionally operate a forklift to transport parts, equipment, and supplies.
• Perform other duties to ensure AVE‑PLP success.

General Purpose

The Service Support is responsible for operating the wash bay, maintaining store grounds, and performing general maintenance of the service department and store location. This position reports to the Service Manager.

Essential Functions

• Operate the wash bay, including washing and detailing equipment.
• Maintain the wash bay in good working order.
• Perform grounds maintenance such as mowing, trimming lawns, snow removal, and garbage removal.
• Assist in moving equipment within the dealership and handle pickups & deliveries of lawn and garden equipment.
• Assist with running store errands.
• Perform all duties following safety policies and procedures.
• Operate a forklift occasionally to transport parts, equipment, and supplies.
• Perform other duties as required to ensure the success of AVE‑PLP.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.

Experience

• Previous maintenance experience preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements / Licenses / Certifications

• Reliable transportation.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Pass driving record (MVR), criminal history background checks, employment verification, and drug screen prior to start of employment.

Working Environment

• Occasional outdoor work in extreme weather conditions (hot/cold); walking on uneven terrain; occasional exposure to insects.
• Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.
• Moderate noise level.
• PPE required, including cold weather gear, eye protection, gloves, and provided uniform.
• Clean and safety-conscientious work environment required.
• Work may involve long hours and overtime during holidays, weekends, and evenings.
• May require rotating on‑call responsibilities.

Physical Activities

• Stand, sit, walk, walk on unpaved terrain, talk, reach with arms and hands, good manual dexterity, use hands and fingers to operate computer and telephone keyboard, handle or feel, hear alarms/telephones/normal speaking voice.
• Regularly required to talk or hear.
• Moderate physical activity moving and positioning objects up to 75 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Close vision, distance vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus.
• May involve climbing ladders, stairs, steps, traversing catwalk grating, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling frequently, and working in confined space with manual dexterity required for safe operation of power and hand tools and motor vehicles.
• Moving, positioning, and carrying loads of up to 5 pounds upstairs and loading on four-foot‑high surfaces frequently.
