Job summary

GSS Construction & Oilfield Supply invites applications for a Yard / Warehouse Support role. You will assist customer pickups, prepare orders, and maintain clean, safe yard and warehouse areas while following company procedures.

You will verify items, handle materials safely, and support inventory tasks with attention to detail. Strong teamwork and dependable transportation are required for this on-site position in Odessa, TX.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard, warehouse, or material-handling preferred.
• Ability to identify and count industrial/oilfield products.
• Proficient with cell phones/tablets, barcode devices, and basic computer apps used by GSS.
• Must follow written and verbal instructions and complete operational documentation.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Reliable transportation to/from work and ability to work assigned hours.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, count, and place incoming material as directed; report shortages or damage.
• Pull, stage, label, and assemble customer orders using approved documents.
• Verify item identity and quantity before release for pickup, delivery, or transfer.
• Safely load/unload vehicles using trained/authorized equipment only.
• Assist customers with pickup, pricing questions, and directing to sales team.
• Return stock and tools to locations; maintain clear aisles and organized racks.
• Inspect tools and equipment before use; report issues immediately.
• Complete required receiving, staging, loading, transfer, and documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of products for safe handling and identification.

SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Yard / Warehouse Support

ROLE PURPOSE

Supports safe, accurate, and efficient yard and warehouse operations by handling material, preparing customer orders, maintaining work areas, and assisting customers and coworkers at the branch.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Receive, unload, count, and place incoming material in the location directed by Inventory or branch management; promptly report shortages, overages, or visible damage.
• Pull, stage, label, and assemble customer orders using the approved sales order, pick ticket, transfer, or other source document.
• Verify item identity and quantity before material is released for pickup, delivery, transfer, or fabrication; escalated discrepancies rather than making undocumented substitutions.
• Safely load and unload customer, vendor, and company vehicles using only equipment the employee is trained and authorized to operate.
• Assist customers courteously during pickup and direct pricing, credit, order-change, and product-selection questions to the Account Coordinator or sales team.
• Return stock and tools to their assigned locations and help maintain clear aisles, organized racks, clean shop areas, yard areas, and concrete surfaces.
• Inspect assigned tools and material-handling equipment before use and report damage, defects, or maintenance needs immediately.
• Complete required receiving, staging, loading, transfer, and equipment documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain working knowledge of commonly handled products so items can be identified, stored, and handled safely.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Previous yard, warehouse, material-handling, or customer-service experience is preferred.
• Ability to identify, count, organize, and safely handle industrial and oilfield products.
• Ability to use a cell phone, tablet, barcode device, and basic computer applications used by GSS.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete basic operational documentation.
• Strong communication, teamwork, follow-through, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record when operation of a company vehicle is assigned.
• Reliable transportation to and from work and the ability to work assigned hours.
