Job summary

Southern Home Services, a residential HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical company, is seeking a dynamic Service Plumber to join our growing team in Kernersville, NC. You will diagnose, install, and repair plumbing systems for residential customers, while upholding high quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, determining repairs or replacements, installing plumbing systems, testing for leaks, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
• Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
• Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
• Experience with pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose complex plumbing issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with customers, team and supervisors.
• Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks and operate tools safely.
• Commitment to safety protocols and safe work environment.
• Ability to lead apprentices and coordinate with other trades on larger projects.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls.

• Repairing and maintaining plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
• Managing the inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
• Keeping equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures.
• Maintaining safety equipment.
• Additional duties as assigned.

About this role:

We are seeking a Service Plumber to handle a range of residential plumbing tasks. In this role, you will perform service work that includes troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems. The physical requirements of this job include:

• Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work.
