Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Service Operations Assistant to support front-end operations, customer service, and associate support. You will help manage daily checkout activities, ensure a smooth customer experience, and uphold store standards.

The role includes assisting with cashier training, adherence to policies, and participation in loss prevention and safety initiatives. This position offers opportunities for growth within a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily front-end activities to ensure efficient customer service operations.
• Support checkout lane coverage and monitor customer flow.
• Assist customer service desk operations as assigned.
• Maintain front-end areas clean, organized, and customer-ready.
• Support implementation of service initiatives and programs.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and promote a customer-first culture.
• Assist customers with inquiries, returns, exchanges, refunds, and service-related concerns.
• Resolve customer issues promptly and elevate concerns when appropriate.
• Support store programs, loyalty initiatives, and promotional events.
• Maintain a professional and positive customer experience.
• Assist with training and mentoring front-end associates.
• Provide operational guidance to cashiers and courtesy clerks.
• Promote adherence to customer service standards.
• Support daily communication between associates and leadership.
• Help reinforce company policies and procedures.
• Assist with front-end cash accountability, till counts, and balancing.
• Ensure compliance with cash-handling policies.
• Monitor front-end controls and report discrepancies.
• Support safety and loss prevention practices.
• Assist with execution of policies and standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate operational records and assist leadership on projects.
• Promote workplace safety and loss prevention.

Position Purpose

The Service Operations Assistant supports front-end operations by assisting with customer service, associate support, store administration, operational compliance, and service execution. This position helps ensure a positive customer experience, efficient checkout operations, and adherence to company policies and procedures while supporting the Service Operations Manager and front-end leadership team.

Key Responsibilities Front-End Operations

• Assist in coordinating daily front-end activities to ensure efficient customer service operations.
• Support checkout lane coverage and monitor customer flow throughout the day.
• Assist with customer service desk operations as assigned.
• Ensure front-end areas remain clean, organized, and customer-ready.
• Support implementation of company service initiatives and operational programs.

Customer Service

• Deliver exceptional customer service and promote a customer-first culture.
• Assist customers with inquiries, returns, exchanges, refunds, and service-related concerns.
• Resolve customer issues promptly and elevate concerns when appropriate.
• Support store programs, loyalty initiatives, and promotional events.
• Maintain a professional and positive customer experience.

Associate Support

• Assist with training and mentoring front-end associates.
• Provide operational support and guidance to cashiers and courtesy clerks.
• Promote adherence to customer service expectations and company standards.
• Support daily communication between associates and department leadership.
• Help reinforce company policies and procedures.

Cash Handling & Operational Controls

• Assist with front-end cash accountability procedures.
• Support register audits, till counts, cash pickups, and balancing activities as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with company cash-handling policies.
• Monitor front-end operational controls and report discrepancies appropriately.
• Support efforts to minimize financial losses and operational risks.

Compliance & Store Support

• Assist with execution of company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
• Support compliance with age-restricted sales, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate operational records and reports as assigned.
• Assist leadership with administrative and operational projects.
• Promote workplace safety and loss prevention practices.

Leadership Support

• Assist the Service Operations Manager with daily operational responsibilities.
• Support staffing plans and work assignments based on business needs.
• Help coordinate front-end activities during peak business periods.
• Assume additional responsibilities as necessary to support store operations.
