Job summary

Seattle Children's seeks an executive to oversee strategic development and operational performance of service lines across inpatient, outpatient, and surgical areas. You will collaborate with Strategy, MarComm, and physician leaders to implement regional and national strategies while applying Lean methods to improve care value.

Requires graduate degrees and at least five years in senior hospital leadership, with preference for academic medical experience and pediatrics.

  • MHA, MBA, MPH, MSN, or related field.
  • At least five years experience of progressively responsible senior management experience in a hospital or health care setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in program and business planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in an environment of rapid change.
  • Experience in an academic medical setting.
  • Experience with Lean methodology.
  • Experience in pediatrics.

  • Collaborate with site of care leaders and academic partners to ensure alignment and recruitment components.

Job description

Accountable for the strategic development and operational performance of assigned service lines/specialties. Provides a broad perspective as it relates to care delivery for the specialty including inpatient, outpatient, and surgical/procedural areas across all sites of care throughout the organization. Maintains deep understanding of the competitive landscape, and identifies strategies and tactics for areas of opportunity and risk. Partners with Strategy and Business Development and Regional Network leaders, MarComm and physician liaisons to identify, assess and implement regional and national strategies. Working collaboratively in a matrixed environment, drives strategic development of systems, processes and controls to support effective management and operations of assigned service lines/specialties. Accountable for continually assessing the efficacy, safety, quality and cost of patient care in accordance with organizational, professional and regulatory standards and includes benchmarking with other institutions. In partnership with the physician leaders and managers in each area, and applying Lean methodology, implements operational improvements to maximize resources and improve outcomes/value. Works closely with site of care leaders, APP Chief and other clinical and ancillary support leaders to ensure alignment of efforts. Collaborates with Department of Pediatrics and University of Washington Physicians (UWP) Department Directors to ensure recruitment and academic components of the division are supported. Also collaborates with Seattle Children's Research Institute and Foundation.

Required Education and Experience
  • MHA, MBA, MPH, MSN, or related field.

  • At least five years experience of progressively responsible senior management experience in a hospital or health care setting.

  • Demonstrated experience in program and business planning.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead in an environment of rapid change.

Preferred
  • Experience in an academic medical setting.

  • Experience with Lean methodology.

  • Experience in pediatrics.

Compensation Range

$161,230.00 - $241,844.00 per year

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
