CCTA Metro is seeking a full-time Service Lane Attendant for the Kalamazoo, MI area to keep our fleet clean and ready for service. The role includes night shifts (Third Shift 9pm–5:30am) and weekend requirements, with a strong emphasis on safety and proper vehicle upkeep.

Responsibilities include fueling and parking buses, exterior and interior cleaning, trash removal, equipment storage, defect documentation, and fare box auditing. A valid license and custodial experience are required.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Custodial or janitorial experience; knowledge of bus cleaning methods, equipment, and supplies.
• Some knowledge of bus or heavy equipment maintenance; truck driving experience and/or skill in driving and parking buses.
• Ability to follow simple written and oral directions.

Responsabilités

• Fuel and park buses, check all fluid levels including oil, transmission, radiator, power steering and windshield wiper solvent.
• Wash bus exterior, thoroughly wash and clean bus interior.
• Remove all trash from bus and by visual inspection check lights, mirrors, wipers, tire wear and tire pressure.
• Clean the service lane area, return tools, equipment, and materials to the storage closet.
• Document defects on appropriate forms.
• Probe fare box for revenue information and empty fare box vault into appropriate specified area for auditing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The position will function under the general supervision of the Director of Fleet & Facilities and under the direct supervision of the Senior Maintenance Supervisor and/or Maintenance Supervisor.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• Possession of a valid driver's license
• Skills in custodial or janitorial work. Some knowledge of bus cleaning methods, equipment, and supplies
• Some knowledge of bus or heavy equipment maintenance; Truck driving experience and/or skill in driving and parking buses
• Ability to follow simple written and oral directions

Ability to:

• Learn and practice safety rules and procedures
• Be flexible in handling changes
• Understand and follow written and oral instructions
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other employees
• Exercise sound judgement in stressful situations within scope of responsibilities
• Lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis and up to 75 lbs. on an intermittent basis

Work Environment:

Normal working conditions for this position are working with regular exposure to odors or fumes, working on slippery or uneven surfaces, exposure to moving machinery and/or vehicles, exposure to outdoor weather including extreme heat, cold, dampness and/or humidity, extensive safety training, work irregular hours, split shifts, weekend and work after designated regular hours in case of special assignments or emergencies.
