Job summary

National Church Residences in Tucson, AZ seeks a part-time Service Coordinator for 20–25 hours/week to oversee resident programs and referrals. You will liaise with community providers, identify affordable services, and build a Resource Directory to support residents’ needs and quality of life.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and 2+ years of experience in social services for elderly/family populations, plus strong advocacy and coordination skills.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in a social service delivery with elderly and/or family population.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of supportive services and other resources in the area served by the project.
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and provide results for the residents served.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate programs and activities for residents.
  • Liaise with community agencies, network with local providers, and seek new services for residents.
  • Identify low-cost service providers and/or negotiate discounts.
  • Engage residents to identify needs and make referrals to community agencies.
  • Develop a Resource Directory of state/local service providers.
  • Sponsor educational events on health care, agency support, life skills and referrals.
  • Provide quality customer service addressing concerns and assisting with basic needs.
  • Assist residents in obtaining and using community services like housekeeping, meals, transportation, personal services, and day care counseling.
  • Report complaints by residents and/or families; maintain relationships with internal/external parties.

The Service Coordinator assumes responsibility for coordinating programs and services to help residents maintain a good quality of life! Education: A bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is preferred. Experience: Preferred two or more years of experience in a social service delivery with elderly and/or family population. Demonstrated working knowledge of supportive services and other resources in the area served by the project. Demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and provide results for the residents served.

  • Engage all residents in the building(s) to identify areas of need and make referrals to community agencies when necessary.
  • Develop a Resource Directory that includes a listing of state and/or local service providers.
  • Sponsor educational events that include subjects relating to health care, agency support, life skills and referral sources.
  • Provide quality customer service to all residents addressing concerns and assisting with basic needs.
  • Assist residents in acquiring and utilizing desired community services such as housekeeping, meals, transportation, personal services, financial assistance, day care counseling.
  • Report all complaints made by residents and/or families.
  • Manage relationships, both internally and externally exercising appropriate communication and interpersonal skills.
