Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience with legal liability issues relating to providing service coordination, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health issues, and mandated reporting.

Description

Are you passionate about connecting people to the services they need? Vancouver Housing Authority (VHA) is looking for a Service Coordinator 1 to support residents by linking them to vital community resources. If you thrive on making a real impact and enjoy working with diverse populations, we want you on our team!

The VHA works closely with local governments and other community partners throughout Clark County to address issues of affordable housing and homelessness and help families break the cycle of poverty. The Service Coordinator 1 links residents to supportive services provided by public agencies or private practitioners within the general community by assessing service needs, determining eligibility for public services and providing referral assistance.

Your skills and experience will contribute to our mission as you:
  • Assess residents' needs and connect them to public and private services
  • Build relationships with community providers to expand available resources
  • Educate residents about their rights and available support programs
  • Track service progress, maintain records, and ensure compliance with program requirements
  • Help residents build support networks and navigate daily challenges
Pay and Benefits
  • In compliance with the Equal Pay & Opportunities Act, the full wage range for this position is $23.57 - $33.00 per hour. The starting salary is determined by the role's required qualifications and the candidate's relevant experience.
  • Full-time, non-exempt, OPEIU Local #11-represented position working in-person/on-site .

  • Benefits package also includes 5.58% paid into WA PERS by employer, 12 company-paid holidays, and generous paid time off and separate sick time accrual.

Requirements
  • BA in Social Service or related field preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of direct service experience working with older adults, families, or individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience and/or training in the aging process, family services and disability services.
  • Experience and/or training in determining eligibility for and procedures of Federal and applicable State entitlement programs.
  • Experience and/or training in the legal liability issues relating to providing service coordination, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health issues, and mandated reporting around abuse and/or neglect of children or vulnerable adults.
  • A valid driver’s license and meet VHA auto insurance requirements.
