Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems operate at peak performance across mission critical environments.

The role requires a high school diploma and 4+ years of facility maintenance, with eligibility for government security clearances. You will perform preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency responses, including safety procedures and reporting.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of experience in facility maintenance.
• Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ability to obtain & maintain HSPD & Secret, preferred HSPD-12 & Secret Active.

Responsibilities

• Ensure electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems within facilities are maintained at peak efficiency; perform planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response.
• Maintain strong verbal and written communication with Onsite Engineering Operations and program management.
• Utilize lockout/tagout, SDS, and safe working practices; log activities in the tracking system for work orders.
• Perform daily walk-throughs documenting meter readings, temperature, humidity, alarm status, and other parameters.
• Understand site-specific processes for incident reporting, outage reporting, PM standards, and work order tracking.

Clearance Requirement

Shift Availability

• 1st shift- 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday
• 2nd shift-12:30pm-11:00pm, Monday-Thursday
• 3rd shift-10:00pm-8:30am, Monday-Thursday
• 4th shift-7:00am-7:30pm, Friday-Sunday
• 5th shift-7:00pm-7:30am, Friday-Sunday

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the facilities is operating at peak efficiency. This involves both planned preventative maintenance of equipment, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues. The technician serves as a technical resource reporting to a program manager, interacting with Onsite Engineering Operations (OEO). They are expected to be heavily engaged in limited facility operations within the facility and to support operations in various capacities.
• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and possession of strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Utilizes safe working practices; can apply lockout/tagout, SDS, applies good housekeeping methods, etc. Ability to type and utilize common administrative and office software.
• Must be able to perform repeated bending & lifting of up to 50lbs during certain procedures.
• Ability to use hand tools and ensures activities are logged in the tracking system for work orders.
• Daily walk-through of facility documenting parameters such as meter readings, temperature, water and humidity, alarm status.
• Ability to understand site-specific processes and procedures such as how to report an incident or outage, procedure execution, PM standards, Work Orders tracking system.

Abilities

• The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
• Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
• Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
• Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
• Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
• May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
• Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
• Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
• Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).

Pay Range

USD $20.00 - USD $29.00 /Hr.
