Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a dependable janitorial associate at our Phoenix service center. This role performs general dock and warehouse cleaning, maintains break room cleanliness, and supports yard and apron maintenance to ensure safe operations.

You must be able to lift up to 70 lbs, work flexible hours including nights or weekends, and collaborate with teammates or work independently as needed. A GED or high school diploma and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Night/weekend shifts may be required; flexible and dependable.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform general dock/warehouse cleaning and upkeep.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the employee break room.
• Maintain the yard and apron space surrounding the Service Center.
• Empty all dock platform and dock restroom trash receptacles.
• Maintain safety ropes at each dock door.
• Break down wooden crates and debris to maximize dumpster capacity.
• Collect and stack wooden pallets and organize dunnage materials.
• Collect and organize trailer load bars.
• Clear walkways and apply salt during winter weather.
• Receive and organize service center supply orders.

• Maintain the yard and apron space immediately surrounding the Service Center
• Empty all dock platform and dock restroom trash receptacles
• Maintain all safety ropes at each dock door
• Break down all wooden crates and delivery debris to maximize dumpster capacity
• Collect and stack all wooden pallets
• Collect and organize all dunnage materials
• Collect and organize all trailer load bars
• Clear walkways and all public access areas during winter weather and apply salt to walkways as necessary
• Receive and organize all service center supply orders in the appropriate locations
• Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
• Must be 17+ years of age
• Previous janitorial experience preferred
• Stable employment history
• Transportation experience a plus
• Must be able to work and complete tasks within time constraints
• Must follow all company safety practices
• Night/weekend shifts may be required; must be flexible and dependable
• Must be able to lift approximately 70 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job
• Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
• Must be able to interact well with others
• Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities
• Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check
