Job summary

Quality Equipment is seeking a Service Advisor for our Hertford branch. The role handles service department inquiries, opens and tracks work orders, and updates customer profiles with equipment data. You will manage warranties, assist technicians with parts, and help load/unload equipment as needed.

The position requires strong communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a basic understanding of accounting practices. An agricultural background is preferred; forklift operation is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices is preferred.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Agricultural background is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fields internal and external customer inquiries for the Service Department.
  • Opens work orders, maintains control until closed and invoiced.
  • Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours or other info from work orders.
  • Maintains service accessories and supplies and prepares replacement orders.
  • Prepares warranty/product improvement submissions for the Central Warranty Administrator.
  • Assists customers with mower or equipment loading/unloading when necessary.
  • Close and process RO's for payment when needed.
  • Assist technicians with parts lookup and MD orders; assist at parts counter as needed.
  • Assist with loading/unloading trucks and staging equipment for service.
  • Act as ambassador for the dealership and promote customer loyalty.

We are currently looking for a Service Advisor to join us in our Hertford branch:

Basic Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Fields internal and external customer inquiries for the Service Department
  • Opens work orders maintains control until they are closed and invoiced
  • Updates customer profiles using equipment, hours, or other information from the customer work orders
  • Maintains service accessories and supplies and prepares replacement orders when necessary
  • Prepares warranty and/or product improvement for submission by the Central Warranty Administrator
  • Assists customers with mower or equipment loading/unloading when necessary.
  • Performs other functions or duties as directed by management in-line with the objectives of the dealership.
  • Close and process RO's for payment when needed
  • Assist technicians and provides part service including parts lookup, pulling parts from parts stock and processing MD orders (where applicable)
  • Assists on the parts counter when necessary
  • Assists with loading/unloading trucks when necessary (where applicable)
  • Assist in staging equipment to be brought in/out of the service department and maintaining the lot for ease of customer pick up and delivery by branch drivers
  • Acts as an ambassador for the dealership and protects the positive dealership image, while promoting customer loyalty and goodwill

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of accounting practices.
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications, such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Knowledge of office procedures.
  • General understanding of mechanical/technical terms is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to operate forklift
  • Good understanding of local conditions with a knowledge of sale and resale values of machinery.
  • Must be a self-starter with good communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Agricultural background preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Weight Requirements: Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Mobility: Standing and sitting for long durations.
  • Visual: Working with PC, manuals, and close detailed work.
  • Driving: Daily – short and long distances.
  • Respiratory: Possible exposure to exhaust and dust fumes.
  • Dexterity Ability to grasp and manipulate tools and parts.
