Job summary

Harmony Senior Services, LLC is seeking a dining room/server staff member in Memphis to courteously serve meals to residents and guests and to assist with menu orders. You will help with beverage service, bottle service, and maintaining a clean dining area in a compassionate, resident-focused environment.

The role involves lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must read and follow simple instructions.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 3 hours.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Clean uniform and good personal hygiene.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Serve resident and guest meals courteously and reset dining room after service.
• Assist residents with menu orders and beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk, coffee).
• Refill salt, pepper and sugar bowls as needed during service.
• Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor.
• Observe proper sit-down serving techniques and food storage labeling.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining areas.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Assist with tray service and maintain resident confidentiality.
• Interact politely with residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors.

Job Description

• The Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of dining room following meal service.
• Assists residents when placing orders from the menu
• Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea)
• Refill salt/pepper/sugar bowls prior to and after each meal
• Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor
• Understands sit-down service and proper serving techniques
• Has a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.)
• Knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniques
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room
• Attends required in-services and staff meetings
• Completes all other duties assigned
• Must be attentive to special needs of residents including: mobility deficits, memory impairment, etc.
• Assists with tray service
• Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information
• Interacts in a polite considerate manner to residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors

Requirements

• Must be in clean designated uniform during working hours and maintain good personal hygiene
• Must be able to read and follow simple instructions
• Must possess ability to perform simple, repetitive tasks
• Must be able to learn quickly and apply learned principles
• Must be able to communicate effectively and work under close supervision
• Must be able to bend, reach, grasp, push and pull objects
• Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods up to three (3) hours at a time
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and carry heavy objects for 20 feet
• Must be organized and willing to work well with other team members
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
