Fairmont Orchid on Hawai‘i Island invites you to join our luxury resort’s Food & Beverage team as an in-room dining associate. You will create memorable dining experiences for guests in a fast-paced, upscale setting, emphasizing personal service, attentiveness, and accuracy.

We offer an hourly rate of $16.50 USD plus tips, with full‑time or part‑time benefits, employee meals, discounts, and a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• English proficiency required; reading, writing and speaking. (≤140 chars)
• Guest-focused, courteous and calm under pressure.
• Team-oriented and collaborative work style.
• Able to meet state/federal food and beverage workforce requirements (TB clearance).

Responsibilities

• Provide dining experiences with warm, personal service in a luxury environment.
• Maintain cleanliness, setup, and ambiance of service areas.
• Be knowledgeable about F&B services, outlets and hotel amenities.
• Upsell and promote food and beverage offers to maximize revenue.
• Serve orders promptly and accurately; remember guest names and preferences.
• Ensure service aligns with standards; clear and reset tables efficiently.
• Assist other outlets during peak times as needed.
• Adhere to HACCP food safety standards and hotel life safety procedures.

Job Description

In‑room dining is available in all 540 guest rooms & suites. Featuring signature gourmet dishes or hearty, just‑like‑home selections. Perfect for our early‑risers who crave breakfast in bed, romantic private dinners or small in‑room gatherings.

What You Will Be Doing

• Provide unique dining experiences to all guests through warm, personal and detailed service in a luxury, upscale and fast‑paced environment.
• Ensure a positive first impression of the restaurant for guests through detailed cleanliness, set‑up and ambiance control.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all F&B services, contents & preparation methods, outlets and hotel services/features.
• Up‑sell and promote food and beverage offers at every available opportunity to maximize sales revenue.
• Pick up and serve food and beverage orders; ensure timely service once ready.
• Remember individual patron names and preferences to extend personalized service.
• Serve all food & beverage in accordance with service standards.
• Clear and tidy tables after patrons depart promptly.
• Perform opening/closing side duties and set tables according to standards and procedures.
• Assist other food & beverage outlets during peak times or when required.
• Apply necessary precautions regarding hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
• Be well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by hotel management.

Qualifications

• Focus on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous at all times.
• Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages is an advantage.
• Team‑oriented and collaborative work style.
• Detail‑oriented, service‑oriented, self‑motivated and energetic.
• Meet required State and Federal food and beverage workforce requirements (TB clearance).

Hourly Rate: $16.50 USD + tips

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.
