Job description

The Server is responsible for taking customers' food and drink orders, serving food and beverages, preparing itemized checks, and sometimes accepting payments. They may perform additional duties such as escorting guests to tables, serving customers seated at counters, setting up and clearing tables, or operating a cash register. They also check the identification of patrons to ensure they meet the minimum age requirement for alcohol purchase. The server is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests in an efficient and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations).
  • Food Handlers certification (must comply with State regulations).
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to work well under stressful, high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Meet certification requirements relevant to the position, including Alcohol Awareness and Food Handlers certifications.
  • Familiarize with the organization of the restaurant and lounge, and understand the function of each job position.
  • Have thorough knowledge of menus and specials.
  • Service guests with all food and beverage needs in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables as needed.
  • Be familiar with the operation of the POS system.
  • Carry out cashiering functions, including closing checks and completing end-of-shift paperwork.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties according to station rotation.
  • Keep tables and side stands stocked, tidy, and clean.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers.
