Job summary

Episcopal SeniorLife Communities is seeking a Server for part-time/casual hours in the dining room and Bistro. The role involves friendly, professional service to residents, greeting guests, taking orders, and handling payments with the POS system.

Shifts include 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm and 10:30 am to 3:00 pm on weekends; exact schedule may vary. Pay rate is $17.00 per hour, with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Six months food service experience preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated, organizational and communication skills and have a friendly and positive attitude.
• Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-service checklist to ensure readiness to open.
• Attend daily touchdown meetings prior to service to understand the menu items and preparation methods.
• May prepare and deliver room service for residents.
• Greet guests and introduce yourself to them.
• Provide guests with dinner rolls and ice water.
• Take and deliver food orders to table(s), ensuring accuracy.
• Operate the Point of Sales system and ticket calling procedure accurately.
• Process guest payments using the POS system.
• Be attentive to guests' wants and requests to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Clear soiled items and reset tables.
• Perform post-service checklist for readiness for the next day.
• Attend service staff meetings when required.
• Read literature and memos concerning changes or information.

The Waitstaff position performs table service for dining room and Bistro. This position serves food in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Perform pre-service checklist to ensure readiness to open.
• Attend daily touchdown meetings prior to service to understand the menu items and preparation methods.
• May prepare and deliver room service for residents.
• Greet your guests and introduce yourself to them.
• Provide your guests with dinner rolls and ice water.
• Take and deliver food orders to table(s), ensuring accuracy.
• Fully understand the Point of Sales system and ticket calling procedure, ensuring accuracy.
• Properly process guest payments accordingly utilizing our point of sales system.
• Being attentive to guests wants and requests to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Clear all soiled items from the table and re-set the table.
• Perform post-service checklist to ensure readiness to open for the next day.
• Attend all required service staff meetings to address problems, concerns or plans.
• Read all literature, memos concerning changes or other necessary information.
