Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Avon, Indiana, is seeking a dedicated server to courteously serve resident and guest meals and assist with menu orders. You will provide beverage service, reset dining areas, and support tray service while attending required trainings.

Responsibilities

• The Server serves resident and guest meals courteously, and cleans and resets the dining room after meals.
• Assists residents with menu selections.
• Provides beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk, coffee/tea).
• Refills salt/pepper/sugar bowls as needed.
• Reports broken equipment or tableware to supervisor.
• Understands sit-down service and proper serving techniques.
• Has basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts).
• Knowledge of food storage and labeling techniques.
• Sweeps, mops, and vacuums kitchen and dining room.
• Attends required trainings and staff meetings.
• Completes other duties assigned.
• Attends to special needs of residents (mobility, memory impairment).
• Assists with tray service.
• Follows confidentiality regarding resident information.
• Interacts politely with residents, guests, coworkers and supervisors.

Job Description

• The Server is responsible for courteously serving resident and guest meals, and for clean-up and resetting of dining room following meal service.
• Assists residents when placing orders from the menu
• Provide beverage service (water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea)
• Refill salt/pepper/sugar bowls prior to and after each meal
• Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor
• Understands sit-down service and proper serving techniques
• Has a basic understanding of food preparation (salads, desserts, etc.)
• Knowledge of proper food storage and labeling techniques
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum kitchen and dining room
• Attends required in-services and staff meetings
• Completes all other duties assigned
• Must be attentive to special needs of residents including: mobility deficits, memory impairment, etc.
• Assists with tray service
• Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information
• Interacts in a polite considerate manner to residents, guests, co-workers and supervisors
