Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a Server Engineer to support IT systems within the QC Labs area, joining a high performing team of IT Infrastructure engineers.

The role is onsite, five days a week, and involves work for a worldwide pharmaceutical company under leadership of forward-thinking IT professionals. You will help build a robust and scalable infrastructure platform to support laboratory equipment and business needs, with projects that advance the company’s IT capabilities

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems (2000–2022).
• Active Directory user and group management, GPOs.
• VMware vCenter virtualization experience.
• PC operating systems: Win XP, Win7, Win10, Win11.
• SCCM, Splunk, Carbon Black, McAfee or equivalent antivirus.
• Microsoft Systems Center or similar monitoring solution.
• Server hardware rack installation experience, ability to lift hardware.
• ServiceNow ITSM or similar IT ticketing system.
• Strong server and network troubleshooting skills.
• Team player capable of independent work with limited supervision.

Job description

We are looking for a Server Engineer to support our IT systems within QC Labs area, who will join a high performing team of IT Infrastructure engineers. The team is currently involved in project work for a worldwide pharmaceutical company. You will be challenged from a leadership team of forward-thinking IT professionals who are building a robust and scalable infrastructure platform to support line of business and for the company's future. Work is onsite, 5 days per week.

Qualified candidates would have the following:

• Experience with Microsoft Win2000 through Win2022 Server Operating Systems
• Experience with Active Directory - User and Group Management, Group Policy
• Experience building Virtual servers in vCenter
• Experience with PC OS Win XP, Win 7, Win10 and Win11
• Experience with SCCM, Splunk, Carbon Black, McAfee or like antivirus
• Microsoft Systems Center or relevant monitoring solution
• Application Configuration with Vendors on Workstations and Servers
• Server rack installation of Hardware (Servers, Storage, etc) including ability to lift hardware
• ServiceNow ITSM or similar IT Ticketing System
• Strong Server and Network Troubleshooting Skills
• Team player who can also work independently, with limited supervision

Nice to have skills:

• Has worked in regulated company before (Pharmaceutical, Medical, Military, or Banking)
• PowerShell Scripting
• Networking

Education / Certifications

• The following qualifications are ideal, but not required:
• Bachelor's degree or similar experience preferred.

TOP SKILLS PER MGR:

• Prior technical experience (5 years) working with IT Infrastructure & IT Systems supporting Laboratory equipment.
• Hands-On implementation and support experience working with Microsoft Windows Servers, Operating Systems (including legacy), Active Directory and Group Policies.
• Team player with an ability to work independently and collaborating directly with non-IT line of business stakeholders and users.
