Job summary

Timbers Kaua‘i is seeking a friendly, service-oriented team member to join our Food & Beverage team. Under the supervision of the F&B Manager, you will present menus, take orders, relay to kitchen, serve courses, and ensure guest satisfaction in a resort setting on Kaua‘i.

You should have at least six months of food and beverage or customer service experience, good English, and a willingness to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum six months of food and beverage experience.
  • Prior experience in customer service.
  • Correct use of business English language.
  • Customer service principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
  • Writes order on check or memorizes it and relays to kitchen.
  • Serves courses from kitchen and service bars, garnishes and decorates dishes.
  • Serves patrons from chafing dish at table and carves meats as needed.
  • Observes and responds to guest requests and completes meals.
  • Total bill, accepts payment, and refers patron to cashier.
  • Place and process food and beverage orders using POS system.
  • Performs other duties as directed by supervisor/manager.

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the F & B Manager, is responsible for providing outstanding service of food and beverages to customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential functions as defined are ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by incumbents within this classification.Essential duties and responsibilitiesmay include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Presents menu, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service
  • Writes order on check or memorizes it
  • Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars
  • Garnishes and decorates dishes preparatory to serving
  • Serves patrons from chafing dish at table
  • Carves meat, bones fish and fowl, and prepares flaming dishes and desserts at patron’s table
  • Observes dinners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed
  • Total bill and accepts payment to refers patron to Cashier
  • Ladles soup, tosses salads, portions pies and desserts, brew coffee, and performs other services as determined by establishment’s size and practices
  • Clears and resets counters or tables at conclusion of each course
  • Place and process food and beverage orders utilizing the restaurant’s POS system
  • Perform other duties as appropriate and directed by supervisor/manager
QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and/or skill required.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of six months of food and beverage experience
  • Prior experience in customer service
