The Kitchen Bistro in Austin is a community gathering spot with a seasonal menu and modern, rustic atmosphere. The Server Assistant role supports the team to maintain an inviting environment and high standards of service.

We’re looking for a high-energy, outgoing individual who is eager to learn, adaptable, and passionate about hospitality. This full-time position offers a supportive team, growth opportunities, and an emphasis on community connections.

Summary

The Kitchen Bistro in Austin is a community gathering spot featuring a seasonal menu and shared plates set in a modern, rustic atmosphere. The Server Assistant is responsible for supporting the team and helping to create and maintain an exciting, inviting, and progressive environment. This person should be a high-energy, outgoing individual who will help to foster connections with friends, family, and the community through service, food, and drink. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, eager to learn and adaptable. We offer a unique, fun environment with the opportunity to grow within the company.

Responsibilities

• Service aspects include guest relations, and the ability to perform objectives in a timely and efficient manner with a focus on quality, while always maintaining an environment of hospitality.


• Keen attention to detail; fully engaged in serving the team and striving to provide a superior level of service; model and promote teamwork.


• Desire to support a team in all capacities during service including performing skills and responsibilities of a server assistant, busser, food runner, etc. This may include greeting tables, providing water, and coordinating the timing and delivery of each course for each table.


• Assist with side work and proper opening and closing of the restaurant.


• Exemplify hospitality and conscientiousness in all interactions with guests, vendors, and the community.


• Promote and embrace the restaurant’s community and culture by demonstrating respect, positive energy, dependability, honesty, initiative, outgoing nature, and a pleasant, professional appearance.


• Support the restaurant's vision and responsibility of being eco-conscious.


• Assist servers and staff as needed. Perform related work as requested; model and promote teamwork.

Working Conditions

• Ability to perform all functions at the restaurant level.


• Working with hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment as well as operating office equipment.


• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk.


• May be required to work in very warm or cold conditions for an extended period of time.


• The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, and crouch.


• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 45 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
