Pizzeria Gabbo, part of the Lettuce Entertain You team in Chicago, is hiring servers for its opening team. Servers provide friendly service, knowledge of the menu and wine program, and support a fast-paced dining room. Benefits include discounts, insurance options, paid vacation, 401(k), and more.

Role requires teamwork, strong communication, and the ability to multitask in a busy setting while maintaining a positive guest experience. Opening shifts and weekend availability are expected.

OPENING SOON: We’re hiring people to join our opening team as SERVERS!
Pizzeria Gabbo is a neighborhood pizzeria and bar located in Chicago's Fulton Market District. The menu will feature two styles of pizza — Chicago Thin & Crispy and New York Crispy, a chef’s take on a traditional New York-style with a crispier finish. The menu will also highlight Italian classics including antipasti, salads, pastas and soft-serve gelato, focusing on sourcing products from both local farms and purveyors as well as imports from abroad. The wine program will highlight Italian, artisanal family‑owned wineries with more than 20 pours available by the glass. The bar program will offer a classic, all‑natural Spritz list and Italian‑inspired cocktails, plus low ABV and zero‑proof cocktails.

SERVER JOB DESCRIPTION

Servers are responsiblefor exceeding guests’expectations by providing efficient, friendly guest service. Teamwork,enthusiasm, food and wine knowledge, the ability to multitask and a high energylevel are necessary for success in this position.

Essential Functions

• Provideefficient, friendly guest service to a 3-6 table section including but notlimited to following all steps of service and bussing the table to ensure apositive guest experience
• Accuratelyrecord and account for all items ordered, process payments, and balance allsales/receipts in compliance with restaurant policies and procedures
• Availableto work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends
• Safelyand effectively transport food or beverages to a table of three in a singletrip
• Safelyand effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment
• Abilityto effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements inwritten and spoken direction
• Abilityto multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment
• Workin a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
• Ableto move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds,and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds
• Abilityto stand and walk for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of therestaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces

• Usetact and good judgement when dealing with guest challenges and respond to guestneeds with patience and courtesy
• Understandand respond knowledgeably to questions about the restaurant and menu

• Understandand follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions
• Proficiencyin the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment, including thePOS system and Frequent Diner, Gift Card and Credit Card terminals
• Complywith all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures
• Successfullycomplete alcohol awareness training
• Followall rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including thoseoutlined in the Employee Handbook
• Getalong well with others and be a team player
• Otherduties will be assigned as needed
