Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is opening a brand-new restaurant inside our Sayreville store, and we’re seeking friendly servers who enjoy great food and making guests feel at home.

As a Server, you will greet guests, take orders, communicate menu offerings, and ensure efficient service in a team-focused, fast-paced environment. This is a part-time role with starting pay that recognises experience and performance. Training is provided, and benefits include dental, vision, paid holidays, and more.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and courteously in the assigned workstation.
• Take and input food and beverage orders accurately into the computer system.
• Communicate all food and beverage offerings and upsell where appropriate.
• Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery from kitchen to guest.
• Maintain clean and organized service areas and assist with bussing as needed.
• Handle guest checks and payments following procedures.
• Perform daily cleaning activities and adhere to SOPs.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Server has the responsibility to serve guests in an assigned station by providing courteous and efficient service that meets or exceeds guest’s dining expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supports a strong commitment to world class guest service and ensures a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for restaurant patrons.
• Completes training requirements and follows service standards as trained.
• Greets guests promptly and courteously in assigned workstation.
• Understands and executes established procedures for verifying guest’s ability to legally purchase and consume alcohol and knows how to prevent a guest from overindulging.
• Learns all menus and can communicate all food and beverage offerings.
• Effectively uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Records food and beverage orders, enters orders into computer system, monitors status of order preparation and safely transports order from kitchen to guest.
• Monitors and addresses guest needs during meal.
• Collects monies owed for food and beverages and properly performs all guest check accountability procedures.
• Performs tip declaration activities and compensates indirectly tipped associates, i.e., Bussers, Bartenders, Runners, as per established service procedures.
• Performs daily cleaning activities.
• Performs food running and station set-up / break-down responsibilities as assigned.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma/GED preferred.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT

• Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.

Starting Pay Rate: $6.05 - $250.00
