Job summary

The Server at Ivy Park at San Juan Capistrano, part of Oakmont Senior Living, delivers meals with courtesy and attentiveness in a senior living setting. The role includes taking orders, serving residents and guests, and supporting dining operations to enhance resident experience.

Experience is not required; we train the right candidate. Must be 16+, with a work permit, and able to pass background checks and health screenings. Competitive pay and benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Prior experience is not required; will train.
• Must be at least 16 years old with a work permit.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Written and verbal communication with staff, physicians, residents and families.
• Pass criminal background check and health screenings (TB, etc.).
• COVID-19 or other regulatory PPE requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents, family members, and visitors in a professional, courteous manner.

• Set up and bus tables.
• Maintain proper serving etiquette and safety standards.

The Server

The Server is responsible for serving food in a friendly, courteous manner, and performing a variety of duties in and around the dining area and kitchen in order to enhance the customers' experience, in accordance with the company’s mission, and values.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents, family members, and visitors in a professional, dignified, efficient, and courteous manner.
• Accurately and professionally take residents' and guests’ food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS (point of sale computer).
• Set up and break down (bus) tables.
• Assure compliance with all proper serving techniques/etiquette (e.g. serving from left, clearing used dishes between courses, etc.).
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Experience is preferred but not necessary; we will train the right candidate.

• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
