Job summary

Avamere Living is seeking a part-time Server to provide excellent dining service in a memory care, assisted living and/or independent living setting at Avamere at St Helens, OR. You will take orders, serve meals, maintain cleanliness, and ensure a positive resident experience during dining hours.

The role requires weekend availability and flexibility across various schedules, with wage range $17.45–$22.77 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety.
  • Maintain high personal hygiene and grooming.
  • Interpersonal skills to serve residents and coordinate with teams.
  • Ability to learn and operate kitchen equipment.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required during employment.
  • Current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department.
  • Knowledge of dietary practices and related laws for hospital/nursing home operations.
  • Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
  • Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately recording and delivering meal and beverage orders from residents.
  • Promptly delivering food and beverages to residents and presenting them attractively.
  • Provide attentive, friendly service and check on residents during meals.
  • Set up dining room before meals and maintain cleanliness during service.
  • Clear and reset tables for next service.
  • Take and deliver room service orders to residents' apartments.
  • Be familiar with the menu and dietary needs and answer questions.
  • Interact with residents and guests professionally and warmly.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Collaborate with wait staff and kitchen staff for smooth service.
  • Dispose of food and waste per policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Wage: $17.45-$22.77/hr DOE

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Location: Avamere at St Helens - 2400 Gable Road, St Helens, OR 97051

Job Summary

A Server in a memory care, assisted living and/or independent living facility is responsible for providing excellent dining service to residents, ensuring a positive and enjoyable meal experience. This includes tasks like taking orders, serving food and beverages, setting up and clearing tables, maintaining cleanliness, and providing attentive service to residents' needs.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
  • Accurately recording and delivering meal and beverage orders from residents.
  • Promptly and courteously delivering food and beverages to residents, ensuring they are presented attractively.
  • Providing attentive and friendly service, checking on residents' needs during meals, and addressing any requests or concerns.
  • Assisting with setting up the dining room before meals, including table settings and condiments, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the meal service.
  • Clearing tables after meals and resetting them for the next service.
  • Taking and delivering room service orders to residents' apartments.
  • Being familiar with the menu and able to answer residents' questions about the food and any special dietary needs.
  • Interacting with residents and their guests in a professional and courteous manner, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Following all food safety and hygiene procedures, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
  • Collaborating with other wait staff and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal service.
  • Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
  • Other duties assigned appropriate to the position.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety at a level normally acquired through on-the-job training.
  • Requires maintaining high standards of personal hygiene while working, including frequent hand washing and securing hair away from the face.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish effective relationships with department workers and with other departments.
  • Skill and ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
  • Requires current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department.
  • Be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures, as well as related laws, regulations and pertaining to hospital and nursing home operation.
  • Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.
  • Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
