Job summary

Oakmont of Redwood City is a premier senior living community managed by Oakmont Management Group. The Server role enhances residents’ dining experience with friendly, courteous service and support in dining areas and kitchens toward our mission and values.

Responsibilities include taking orders accurately in the POS, setting up and clearing tables, adhering to serving etiquette, maintaining safety, and promoting teamwork across departments to ensure a welcoming environment for residents,

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age with a work permit.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work with the elderly.
• Able to pass background check and health screening (including TB).
• Clear written and verbal communication with staff, physicians, residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents, family members, and visitors in a professional, dignified, efficient, and courteous manner.
• Accurately take residents' and guests’ food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system.
• Set up and break down (bus) tables.
• Adhere to proper serving techniques/etiquette (e.g., serving from left, clearing between courses).
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, residents, and guests; follow safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

The Server is responsible for serving food in a friendly, courteous manner, and performing a variety of duties in and around the dining area and kitchen in order to enhance the customers' experience, in accordance with the company’s mission, and values.

Responsibilities:

• Serve residents, family members, and visitors in a professional, dignified, efficient, and courteous manner.
• Accurately and professionally take residents' and guests’ food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS (point of sale computer).
• Set up and break down (bus) tables.
• Assure compliance with all proper serving techniques/etiquette (e.g. serving from left, clearing used dishes between courses, etc.).
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications:

• Experience is preferred but not necessary; we will train the right candidate.
• Must be at least 16 years of age with a work permit.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
