Job summary

Savant Senior Living is seeking a server to provide warm, attentive dining service to residents in a supportive assisted-living setting. You will help with meal service, manage requests, and maintain a clean dining area while coordinating with the culinary team.

Applicants should be at least 18, pass health screenings, and have or be willing to obtain First Aid/ CPR certification. Prior server experience is a plus and the role reports to the Culinary Director.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance required.
• First Aid/ CPR Certification preferred.
• California code requirements may apply; willingness to meet special licenses/certifications.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents as they are seated and ensure the table is clean with utensils and napkins.
• Present menus and daily specials; answer questions about the menu.
• Take orders and serve meals and beverages per residents' preferences and dietary needs.
• Deliver orders to the kitchen and ensure timely service.
• Confirm correct preparation and residency satisfaction; return incorrect orders to kitchen.
• Clear tables and assist with dining area upkeep and cleaning.
• Support culinary team by maintaining clean dishes and equipment during service.
• Assist with dining room cleanup and restocking condiments as needed.
• Deliver food, beverages, and requested items to residents; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Server is a key member of our assisted living facility's dining team, responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to our residents in a warm and welcoming manner.Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and dining environment. This role ensures a positive dining experience by assisting with meal service, addressing resident needs, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area. The Server reports to the Culinary Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to all components of the above position summary the following \"Essential Duties and Responsibilities\" are essential to successful performance in this position.

• Greets residents as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided.


• Distributes menus and presents the daily specials. Answers questions regarding the menu.


• Take orders and serve meals and beverages according to residents' preferences and dietary requirements.


• Takes food and beverage orders and delivers them to the kitchen.


• Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to residents’ satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen.


• Collects plates and clears the table as customers finish their meals.


• Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.


• Assist culinary team members by maintaining a steady supply of clean dishes and equipment during meal service.


• Support kitchen cleanup by removing trash, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining overall cleanliness as needed.


• Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers.


• Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

• At least 18 years of age.


• Required Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance.


• Any special licenses, certifications, and certificates (First Aid/ CPR Certified)


• Special skills needed to meet client needs [California Code of Regulations Sections: 85065(f)/87411(g)]


• Previous experience as a server preferred.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry trays, and move comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
