Job summary

Pizza Inn in Hickory, NC is seeking a friendly Server team member who will ensure a smooth dining experience by greeting guests, taking orders, and delivering food and beverages promptly.

You will work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff, maintain clean stations, handle cash transactions, and support guests with menu knowledge while upholding Pizza Inn's standards of service and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Greets guests and presents them with the menu. Informs guests of specials and menu changes, suggestively sells, and answers questions regarding food, beverages, and service
• Takes food orders from guests and relays to kitchen staff
• Prepares and delivers beverage orders
• Serves courses from kitchen and service areas promptly, and garnishes items with proper presentation prior to serving
• Assists in stocking workstation, bussing tables, and resetting tables
• Processes guest’s orders to ensure all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis
• Communicates with other employees to ensure guest satisfaction with the food and service
• Assists in other areas of the restaurant when needed
• Completes opening and/or closing checklists
• Perform other related duties, as assigned by company management

As word spread of the restaurant’s exceptional pizza and friendly service, so did Pizza Inn locations across the Heartland. From 1960-1990, taste buds across the southeastern and southwestern U.S. were able to experience first-hand the made-from-scratch crispy, crackery Original Thin crust, and tangy signature sauce that are still hallmarks of the Pizza Inn brand today. For more than 60 years, Pizza Inn has prided ourselves on freshness and innovation, introducing the Taco Pizza in 1979, the first dessert “Pizzert” pizza in 1986 and the chain’s hallmark Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza by the 1990s. Job description

The Server team member is responsible for the successful execution of the Pizza Inn experience through serving the guest.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for periods of up to 4 hours
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate communication
• Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to customers, team members and management
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and kneel repeatedly over a long period of time
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
