Job summary

Savant Senior Living is seeking a friendly Server for our dining team in Culver City, CA. You will greet residents, take orders, serve meals, and help maintain a clean, welcoming dining environment throughout service hours.

The role emphasizes compassionate interaction with seniors, adherence to dietary requirements, and collaboration with the culinary team led by the Culinary Director.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Health Screening, TB Clearance and Criminal Record Clearance required.
• First Aid/ CPR Certification required or preferred.
• Special skills per California regulations for senior dining environments.
• Previous server experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents and ensure the table is clean with utensils and napkins.
• Distribute menus, present daily specials and answer menu questions.
• Take orders and serve meals and beverages per dietary preferences.
• Deliver orders to the kitchen and ensure correct preparation.
• Clear tables, reset for the next guests and assist with dining area upkeep.
• Maintain a steady supply of clean dishes and condiments during service.
• Deliver items to residents and assist kitchen cleanup as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Server is a key member of our assisted living facility's dining team, responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to our residents in a warm and welcoming manner.Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and dining environment. This role ensures a positive dining experience by assisting with meal service, addressing resident needs, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area. The Server reports to the Culinary Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to all components of the above position summary the following “Essential Duties and Responsibilities” are essential to successful performance in this position.

• Greets residents as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided.
• Distributes menus and presents the daily specials. Answers questions regarding the menu.
• Take orders and serve meals and beverages according to residents' preferences and dietary requirements.
• Takes food and beverage orders and delivers them to the kitchen.
• Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to residents’ satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen.
• Collects plates and clears the table as customers finish their meals.
• Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.
• Assist culinary team members by maintaining a steady supply of clean dishes and equipment during meal service.
• Support kitchen cleanup by removing trash, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining overall cleanliness as needed.
• Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

• At least 18 years of age.
• Required Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance.
• Any special licenses, certifications, and certificates (First Aid/ CPR Certified)
• Special skills needed to meet client needs [California Code of Regulations Sections: 85065(f)/87411(g)]
• Previous experience as a server preferred.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry trays, and move comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
