Job summary

The Cottages of Carmel, a premier senior living community managed by Oakmont Management Group, seeks a Part-Time Server for the 11:00 am–7:30 pm PM shift. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is required and compensation ranges from $17.00 to $18.00 per hour.

You will serve residents and guests with warmth, take orders, and maintain dining area standards. Training is provided, with a supportive team in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience is preferred but not required; we will train the right candidate.
• Must be at least 16 years of age with a work permit.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact with staff, supervisors, physicians, residents and families.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, TB tests.
• Vaccination/testing requirements per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents, family members, and visitors in a professional, courteous manner.
• Take residents' and guests' orders and enter into the POS.
• Set up and break down tables.
• Follow proper serving etiquette and safety standards.

The Server is responsible for serving food in a friendly, courteous manner, and performing a variety of duties in and around the dining area and kitchen in order to enhance the customers' experience, in accordance with the company’s mission, and values.

Responsibilities

• Serve residents, family members, and visitors in a professional, dignified, efficient, and courteous manner.
• Accurately and professionally take residents' and guests’ food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS (point of sale computer).
• Set up and break down (bus) tables.
• Assure compliance with all proper serving techniques/etiquette (e.g. serving from left, clearing used dishes between courses, etc.).
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
