Job summary

San Manuel is seeking a Serrano Language Instructor to teach language immersion classes, deliver FTS-driven lessons, and support after-school programs. You will work with tribal citizens and education staff to advance the Serrano Language Revitalization Project and provide individualized language instruction as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and several years of teaching indigenous languages, plus strong communication and tech-enabled teaching skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; four years in indigenous language teaching may substitute.
• Experience with teaching varied age groups and languages preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, teach, and reflect on Serrano language immersion classes.
• Develop and adapt lesson materials across platforms.
• Maintain ongoing study of Serrano language.
• Plan and support cultural/language events.
• Prepare activities for after-school programming.
