Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field.
• Completion of basic police training approved by the state and local law enforcement officer training board.
• Two years experience in the supervision of law enforcement officers, conservation officers or rangers.
• Must be a US citizen, at least 21 years old, with good moral character.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and local ordinances.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Skilled in modern police practices and community policing.

Responsibilities

• Provide field supervision for Police Department personnel and emergency assistance to the public.
• Conduct surveillance, follow up investigations, and training for the Ranger force.
• Promote good public relations and manage staffing, scheduling, and appraisals.
• Drive a motorized vehicle to travel to different locations.
• Perform tasks requiring walking, bending, standing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
