Job summary

G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc., an Allied Universal Company, seeks a Sergeant to supervise day-to-day transport operations and planning of shift schedules across multiple locations. This role coordinates with in-house customer supervisors to ensure security and operational efficiency.

You will supervise Transportation Officers, review incidents, and generate periodic reports while maintaining compliance with regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to pass state-required training or qualifications for licensing.
• Must pass a state licensing test if driving company-owned or client-provided vehicle.
• Must be a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Background check required by federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level supervision of Transportation Officers and operations; manage daily shift schedules and interface with customer-level supervisors.
• Liaise with G4S first and second-level supervisors; hold regular meetings with customer-level supervisors on operations and personnel issues.
• Report incidents and status to Site Supervisor, Operations Manager, and Fleet Manager; produce weekly security-hours and incident reports.
• Assess operational needs of transportation teams and implement measures to satisfy requirements.
• Identify vulnerabilities to operations related to safety and events; develop and implement mitigation solutions.
• Propose enhancements to operational efficiencies and coordinate recommendations with Site Supervisors.

Job Description

G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc., an Allied Universal Company, is hiring a Sergeant. The Sergeant provides direct first level supervision of day-to-day transport operations that include the supervision of transport teams. is responsible for direct oversight and planning of daily shift schedules, workflow, and day-to-day operations of transportation teams. The Sergeant also coordinates G4S tactical operations with customer's in-house supervisors.

• First level supervision of Transportation Officers and operations; manage daily shift schedules; interface with customer-level supervisors and Site Supervisor; evaluate performance of Transportation Officers; clearly articulate directives, policies, and procedures to subordinate personnel
• Liaise with G4S first and 2nd level supervisors; frequent meetings with customer-level supervisors concerning operational and personnel issues
• Report incidents, statistical requirements and status reports to Site Supervisor, Operations Manager, Program Manager and Fleet Manager; provide weekly physical security-hours reports; submit timely incident reports; provide status reports as required
• Assess operational needs of transportation teams, and determine, develop and implement measures to satisfy needed items
• Proactively identify vulnerabilities to operations specific to safety and certain events such entry and exit attempts; develop and implement solutions that mitigate identified operational vulnerabilities
• Assess and evaluate enhancements to operational efficiencies and coordinate recommendations with Site Supervisors

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The basic qualifications listed below are representative of the relevant knowledge, skills, and/or experience required in order to be hired. These are requirements that we have determined are the minimum a candidate must have in order to be successful in this role.

Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications Required:

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to pass any state-required training or other qualifications for licensing
• Must be able to pass a state licensing test if you will be driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
• Must be a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws; G4S will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law

TYPE AND LENGTH OF SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum of two (2) years of driving experience and a minimum of 21 years of age (as required by the Department of Transportation)
• Prior supervisory experience in a multi-location security environment
• Minimum of three (2) years of experience in any combination of the following:
  • Law enforcement
  • Military police
  • Security officer engaged in correctional operations

• Must be at least 21 years old or minimum required by the state, if higher
• Must be able to read, understand, and comprehend legal regulatory rulings and guidance

OTHER RELATED ATTRIBUTES THAT WOULD ENHANCE HIRING CONSIDERATION:

• State-issued security licenses for armed and unarmed security personnel applicable to the assigned work location.
• Possession of a current and valid Commercial Driver's License with a Passenger endorsement
• Fluency in multiple languages (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Possession of an active federal clearance
