Job summary

Aptive is seeking a Web Content Specialist to write, edit, and manage web content for FHWA and RD&T sites. You will upload content using Drupal, SharePoint, and Google Sites, optimize text for SEO, and ensure accessibility per Section 508.

You’ll also coordinate quarterly content certifications and support training materials for staff. This hybrid role is based in McLean, VA, with on-site requirements as needed and potential client travel.

Qualifications

• Experience in writing and editing for web and training materials.
• Strong ability to edit content for clarity and accuracy.
• Familiarity with SEO and accessibility standards (Section 508).
• Proven ability to manage reviews and CMS uploads.
• Ability to train staff and present outreach training.

Responsibilities

• Draft, revise, and finalize web content and user guides.
• Publish content via CMS platforms (Drupal, SharePoint, Google Sites).
• Optimize content for SEO and ensure 508 compliance.
• Create training materials and deliver in-person/virtual sessions.
• Crop and edit images for web use.
• Coordinate quarterly content certifications and maintain links.
• Monitor updates and recommend improvements for readability and navigation.
• Provide quality control for web content and data entries.
• Support efficient content operations across teams.
