Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SEO/ASO Manager based in the United States.

This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role responsible for shaping organic discovery across search engines, AI answer platforms, and app stores.
You will own a unified SEO, AEO/GEO, and ASO strategy that connects discovery, content, product experiences, and conversion.
The role combines technical SEO expertise with content strategy, information architecture, structured data, and AI-focused optimization.
You will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing, and PR to improve visibility, authority, and organic revenue contribution.
You will also manage a Content Strategist and supporting agency while personally driving complex technical and strategic initiatives.
As the subject matter expert for organic discovery in an increasingly AI-first landscape, you will help define how customers find, evaluate, and engage with the brand.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced organic growth leader who enjoys ownership, experimentation, cross-functional collaboration, and measurable business impact.

Accountabilities:
  • Own the unified organic discovery strategy across SEO, AEO/GEO, and ASO, ensuring traditional search, AI citations, and app-store visibility work together across products and markets.
  • Manage a small team, including a Content Strategist, as well as supporting external agency resources, while setting the quality standards for content and organic initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the editorial strategy and calendar across blog content, product pages, help content, comparison pages, and other discovery-focused experiences.
  • Own website information architecture, including URL structures, taxonomy, internal linking, content hierarchy, and navigation logic for both users and search crawlers.
  • Lead AEO initiatives by optimizing content for AI parsing, expanding structured data, and developing signals that improve eligibility for AI-generated answers and recommendations.
  • Monitor visibility and citation share across platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, identifying content gaps and opportunities to strengthen the brand's presence.
  • Lead technical SEO efforts covering crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, canonicalization, redirects, hreflang, structured data, and site architecture, partnering with Engineering to resolve issues and incorporate SEO requirements into launches.
  • Optimize high-intent landing pages and FAQ content for both traditional search performance and AI answer eligibility, with a strong focus on conversion.
  • Develop off-page authority strategies with PR and other partners, including link-building opportunities, editorial placements, and creator co-citation initiatives.
  • Drive international SEO localization through market-specific keyword research, localized content briefs, hreflang governance, and coordinated ASO updates.
  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting covering organic traffic, AI citation rates, app-store rankings, and organic revenue contribution, translating data into actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing, and PR to align organic growth priorities with product launches, campaigns, and technical roadmaps.
Requirements:
  • 5–8 years of experience in SEO and content strategy, with a demonstrated history of improving organic performance across websites and/or mobile applications.
  • Proven experience with AEO/GEO and generative search, including an understanding of how AI models interpret content and structured data and how to improve visibility within AI-generated results.
  • Strong technical SEO expertise, including crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data, site architecture, canonicalization, redirects, and hands-on collaboration with Engineering teams.
  • Experience owning content strategy and editorial operations, including content calendars, production workflows, content-gap analysis, topical authority, and content hierarchy.
  • An AI-native approach to work, with practical experience using AI tools for research, content briefs, structured data, analysis, and scalable content workflows.
  • Global SEO experience, including hreflang implementation, localized keyword strategies, and content localization across multiple markets.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to build dashboards, identify trends and anomalies, and connect organic metrics to business outcomes.
  • Proficiency with SEO platforms such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console; experience with ASO tools such as AppTweak or Sensor Tower is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of app-store optimization and the ability to coordinate ASO strategy with broader organic discovery initiatives.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering with Engineering, Product, Marketing, and PR teams.
  • Strong communication and influencing abilities, including the capacity to explain complex search and algorithm changes in accessible business terms and advocate for organic investment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people and external partners while maintaining hands‑on ownership of strategic and technical work.
  • Strong commercial mindset and ability to connect organic initiatives to acquisition, conversion, revenue, and long‑term customer growth.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced, remote‑first environment with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary: $121,500–$178,500 USD base salary for U.S.-based employees, with final compensation based on location, experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
  • Equity: Compensation package includes equity opportunities.
  • Health coverage: Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, with premiums fully covered for employees.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with a company matching program.
  • Paid parental leave to support growing families.
  • Flexible time off, companywide holidays, and seasonal summer and winter shutdowns.
  • Mental wellness support, including an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Learning and development programs to support continued professional growth.
  • Remote-first work environment, with equipment, tools, and reimbursement support for working effectively from home.
  • Free premium membership and tracking-device benefits for employees.
  • Mission‑driven, collaborative culture focused on high ownership, innovation, direct communication, and meaningful customer impact.
  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of SEO, AI search, ASO, content strategy, and digital commerce in a rapidly evolving landscape.
