Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Systems Engineer for the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) team. Located in Roy, Utah, this role supports the Sentinel program and requires a Secret clearance. Relocation assistance may be available. Travel up to 10% may be required.

The candidate will perform technical planning, requirements development, verification, and MBSE in Cameo, coordinating with design, test and other teams, while delivering clear technical presentations to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 2+ years of related experience; 0 years with a Master’s
  • US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance at time of application
  • Ability to obtain SAP approval within a reasonable period
  • Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements development and decomposition, management and traceability, verification & validation planning and execution
  • Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, or similar)
  • Experience preparing and delivering technical presentations to customers or leadership

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) team. This position is located in Roy, Utah and supports the Sentinel program.

This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do
  • The selected candidate will perform technical planning, system requirement development, requirements verification, architecture and support reviews.
  • The candidate responsibilities will include requirements development in DOORS and MBSE development in Cameo in addition to coordination with design, test, and other teams
  • The selected candidate will demonstrate technical skills, organization, be an effective communicator, and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate. They will have an ability to operate in a team environment and collaborate across the program as required to accomplish tasks
  • The selected candidate may support Guidance & Control Support Equipment requirements, verification, interfaces, architecture, and/or Major Program Event (MPE) event coordination
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with a minimum 2 years of related experience; 0 years with a Master's
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • Must have experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, including Requirements development and decomposition, Requirements management and traceability, Verification & validation planning and execution
  • Must have experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, or similar)
  • Must have experience preparing and delivering technical presentations to customers or leadership
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with one or more of the following disciplines: Guidance, Navigation, & Control, Electrical Engineering, Software Development, Hardware-Software Interfaces
  • A general understanding of Engineering Board Processes
  • Experience leading projects/assignments
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence) or similar
  • Experience with Critical Design Review planning and/or execution
  • Experience working with suppliers/subcontractors including reviewing SOWs and other contractual documents
  • Strong experience reviewing specifications, requirements, and interface documents
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model
  • Experience with aerospace development
  • Experience with systems product development
  • Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools
  • Experience in documenting Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirement Specifications, and Interface Description Documents
  • Experience in DoD development environment
  • Experience with ICBM weapon system sustainment engineering and integration
  • Experience with complex system development on large programs
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain
  • Active SAP Clearance or ability to obtain

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
