Job description

Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance required for start: Yes. Clearance type: Secret. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.

The position is located in Manhattan Beach, CA and supports the Sentinel Program. This dual‑hat role requires functional management and program responsibilities. Functional Homeroom (FHR) responsibilities comprise up to 20% of time while 80% of effort focuses on technical program support under the Sentinel – Command Systems (CS) Hardware Design Integration team.

Functional Homeroom Responsibilities
  • Recruiting, staffing, and retaining talent.
  • Performance management.
  • Process familiarization and training for Section members.
  • Provide career mentorship and operational support to a team of 10–15 ICs.
Technical Scope
  • Lead CS hardware analysis, overseeing a diverse analysis team of structural, electrical, and thermal analysts.
  • Report directly to the IPT Lead.

  • Work with program leadership to assess issues and develop solutions to meet productivity, quality, and program cost/schedule objectives.
  • Develop and maintain metrics for monitoring the team's progress.
  • Support earned value tracking and reporting.
  • Control and assign tasking within the group.
  • Participate in technical reviews and ensure quality and applicability of analysis work products.
  • Grow, develop, and manage a diverse team of analysts.
  • Interface with internal and external customers.
  • Participate in ROM development, Basis of Estimates, etc., as needed.

Standard work schedule is a 9/80 schedule: employees work a nine‑hour day Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $146,600.00 – $219,800.00.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 8 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) completed within the last 6 years or current enrollment in Continuous Evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period.
  • Experience in technical leadership/management role.
  • Experience in writing and presenting technical content.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of engineering analysis principles.
Nice to Have Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Abaqus, Ansys, FEMAP, MATHCAD, Capital or equivalents.
  • At least 1 year leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
  • Experience with VBA, Python, MATLAB.
  • Strong experience leading teams and training others.
  • Experience with individual contributor performance assessments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate independently with limited to no supervision.
  • Experience developing and implementing analytic methods to support test, validation, and qualification.
  • Experience with TeamCenter CPLM.
  • Experience performing in an Agile environment and knowledge of JIRA.
