Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design specialized packaging for program deliverables and ensure transportability compliant with military standards. The role involves cross-functional reviews, training, and collaboration across locations.

The position may require a DoD Secret clearance, CAD expertise, and the ability to interpret CDRLs. Candidates should have a BS in Engineering; a MS is a plus, with experience in packaging design and military standards.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship with an active DoD Secret clearance is required.
  • Experience with CAD Design and reading/interpretation of Military Standards.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Masters or equivalent experience may supplement.
  • Ability to read and interpret CD RLs and prepare Packaging designs in compliance with standards.

Responsibilities

  • CAD design of special packaging for program deliverables and reviews.
  • Collaborate with programs to review SDRLs/CDRLs and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Train personnel on Military Standards and ensure packaging design compliance.
  • Coordinate with multiple engineering teams on packaging and storage design across locations.

What You’ll Get To Do:

CAD design of special packaging for program deliverables to ensure proper transportability. This position will be a part of program design reviews. Work and collaborate with programs to review and buy off on Subcontractor Data Requirements Lists (SDRL's) and final program Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRL's) and collection for delivery on schedule to the customer. Help train and interpret Military Standards in accordance with contracts and compliance in packaging designs to the Military standards. Work with multiple engineering teams to collaborate on packaging and storage requirements and design at multiple locations.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Basic Qualifications:

This position can be filled at Packaging Engineer(T2) or Principal Packaging Engineer(T3)

Packaging Engineer: Bachelors of Science degree with 2 years of experience; a Masters degree with 0 years of work-related experience; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree. U.S. Citizen with Active DoD Secret clearance Experience with CAD Design Must be able to read and interpret CDRLs Must be able to read, interpret and train personnel on Military Standards Experience with product design and/or packaging design

Principal Packaging Engineer: Bachelors of Science degree with 5 years of experience; a Masters degree with 3 years of experience; or an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Primary Level Salary Range:

$72,100.00 - $108,100.00

Secondary Level Salary Range:

$89,400.00 - $134,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
