Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Roy, UT seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to support the Data Acquisition and Processing System for the Sentinel program. You will contribute to system architecture, requirements development, and flight test data handling at Vandenberg Space Force Base.

Expect collaboration with internal and external customers and a structure aligned with MBSE principles. The role requires a US citizenship with active Secret clearance and the ability to pursue Top Secret.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years of related experience or 3 years with a Master or 1 year with a PhD.
  • US Citizen with an active Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret
  • Able to be screened for Enhanced Security Clearances in a timely manner
  • Experience with DOORS or CAMEO
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and the V-model
  • Knowledge of functional requirement development and architecture definition

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer T-03 Level) to support the Data Acquisition and Processing System, within the System Test Team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do:

Support the development and deployment of the Data Acquisition and Processing System to support flight test data handling at Vandenberg Space Force Base

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • System architecture and requirements development

  • Flight test data processing to include best bit selection of raw telemetry data and data quality checks

  • System performance assessment, requirements analysis, verification and validation, design, development, and integration

  • Create technical reports and present metric reports

  • Interface with internal and external customers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with a minimum 5 years of related experience; 3 years with a Master’s; or 1 years with a PhD.

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (<6 years), with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance

  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs

  • 2 years of experience with DOORS or CAMEO

  • Experience with Systems Engineering Principles or understanding of the Systems Engineering V

  • Understanding of functional requirement development, requirements analysis, functional analysis, trades, and architecture definition

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar

  • ICBM Experience

  • Experience soliciting input from internal and external stakeholders, synthesizing data, and communicating complex results to technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels

  • Familiarity with Agile engineering and Jira

  • Advanced use of standard Microsoft Office products to include development tools

  • Experience with modern (Model Based System Engineering) MBSE principles and SysML Modeling Language

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with adjudication in the last 6 years

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
