Job summary

Applied Intuition is hiring for a role focusing on leading validation and characterization of sensors for Sensor Simulation and Self-Driving System products. The role requires hands-on experience with Cameras, Lidar, Radar, and Ultrasonic sensors across diverse operating environments.

The candidate should have a minimum of three years in sensor validation, with strong Python data analysis skills and Linux/Unix proficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in sensor validation or related roles.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and test automation.
• Experience validating Cameras, Lidar, or Radar under varied environments.
• Strong Linux/Unix CLI and Bash scripting skills.
• Experience with sensor driver development and UDP data parsing.

About the role

• Lead sensor validation and characterization for Sensor Simulation and Self-Driving System (SDS) products across the Automotive, Trucking, and Construction & Mining industries.
• Execute validation and characterization protocols for Lidar, Radar, Camera, and Ultrasonic sensors to ensure performance accuracy across diverse operating environments.
• Improve the fidelity and accuracy of synthetic simulations by developing and refining Machine Learning (ML) and physical models of sensing systems, materials, and world environments.
• Conduct physical sensor performance validation for Self-Driving System (SDS) stacks, comparing physical hardware data against simulated models.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to bridge the gap between physical sensor data and synthetic model development to ensure high-accuracy perception for autonomous vehicles.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Requires a Bachelor’s or foreign degree equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or related field
• At least three (3) years of experience in job offered or any occupation in which the required experience was gained.
  Experience with or knowledge of the following required:
• Python for data analysis, automation of sensor validation test suites, and processing large-scale datasets from autonomous vehicle sensors
• Sensor Validation and characterization, including analyzing performance metrics for sensing modalities such as Cameras, Lidar, or Radar under diverse environmental conditions
• Linux/Unix environment, including command-line interface (CLI) navigation, shell scripting (Bash), and managing software dependencies for autonomous system stacks
• Sensor driver development, including the ability to utilize UDP architectures to parse and extract raw sensor data for performance analysis.
