Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory seeks a Modeler and Data Analyst to design, prototype, and test sonar and electromagnetic sensor systems. You will contribute to Navy capabilities through sensor performance prediction and assessment.

The role involves modeling underwater propagation, data analysis, and presenting results to a multidisciplinary team of physicists, engineers, and mathematicians. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain clearances.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Engineering or Applied Mathematics required.
• Strong knowledge of acoustic or electromagnetic wave propagation.
• Proficiency in MATLAB or Python.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearances.

Responsabilités

• Conduct sensor system performance modeling for undersea warfare projects.
• Develop, maintain, and extend models of underwater acoustic or electromagnetic propagation and system performance.
• Analyze sonar or electromagnetic system data.
• Document and present results.
