Job summary

BROADCOM’s Broadcom Plano, TX site is seeking a skilled Mainframe z/VM System programmer to administer and support IBM z/VM environments. This role focuses on VM guest provisioning, service machine configuration, and ensuring system reliability in a high-availability production setting.

The ideal candidate will have extensive z/VM experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with CA VM products, VTAM, and RSCS. Competitive salary with bonus and equity opportunities is offered.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with IBM z/VM administration and support.
• Experience in a high-availability production environment.
• Experience with guest provisioning and management of z/OS, z/VM, and z/VSE under z/VM.

Responsibilities

• z/VM system administration and support for IBM z/VM OS.
• Define and manage VM guests for z/OS, z/VM, z/Linux, and z/VSE.
• Configure and administer VM service machines (RSCS, TCP/IP SSL, VTAM, certificates).
• Ensure backup/restoration of DCSS and NSS segments.
• Collaborate with VM guest owners to allocate resources.
