Google LLC’s YouTube Ads team is seeking a Senior Research Data Scientist to optimize advertising performance. You will translate advertiser goals into real-time decision making and build large-scale optimization systems using mathematical modeling, auction theory, risk management, and machine learning.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams and leveraging data infrastructure to deliver measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or 3 years of work experience with a PhD degree.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders across cross-projects to identify and clarify business questions and translate them into tractable analysis and evaluation metrics.
• Design and evaluate models using data infrastructure to express and solve defined problems.
• Gather information on business goals, priorities, and data infrastructure to inform analyses.
• Own data collection, extraction, and validation across sources to ensure quality for analysis.
