Job summary

The Department of Health and Human Services - Juvenile Justice and Youth Services in Ogden, UT seeks a Lead Youth Development Specialist for Millcreek Youth Center. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six years of paid work experience with troubled or at-risk youth; combination with education can equal six years.
• Valid Utah Driver's License.
• Experience at JJYS facilities, Utah State Hospital, or related youth programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and work with high risk/volatile youth with complex behavioral problems.
• Assess client physical, mental, social and behavioral needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct individual, family, or group counseling sessions.
• Apply safety, security, and intervention techniques.
• Supervise staff and provide training or input on performance and hiring.
